"I live in Germany and the Netherlands, near the North Sea. At the seaside I am surrounded by inspiring motifs. I have always been fascinated by the dramatic atmosphere of this almost untouched nature. My work explores memory, emotion and the way a particular place, environment or ever-changing light can affect the way I feel. I love to express myself creatively. For me there are many aspects of the creative process. One of these aspects is being in nature. My greatest sources of inspiration are the sky, the sea and the horizon. I often spend time in nature, taking photos or making small studies with watercolor or pastel chalk in my sketchbook. These studies are later implemented on canvas, layer-by-layer, with acrylic paints, acrylic inks, brush and painting knife. "
